Eugene and Springfield Human Bean locations partnered with local charity on Sept. 2

The Eugene-Springfield community came out in droves to support our fundraiser with the Relief Nursery on Sept. 2, 2022. Half of all sales from our Lane County locations of the Human Bean went to the Relief Nursery, a non-profit organization that helps keep children in our community safe. Our teams at each of our different Human Bean locations love getting involved in the community and being a part of something greater.

We are proud to have partnered with the Relief Nursery because of what they represent and everything they’ve done to help support the community not only here in Lane County but throughout the rest of the state of Oregon. Founded in 1976, the Relief Nursery is a non-profit organization that wanted to offer preventative services when it came to child abuse and neglect, offering support to children and families so this abuse and neglect wouldn’t happen in the first place. Their mission is to assist parents and children in the first few years of a child’s life to break the cycle of abusive behaviors before it becomes ingrained.

The Relief Nursery serves over 1,000 families and their children each year throughout 31

communities in Oregon. They see great success through their efforts, as more than 93 percent of the children they serve have no reports of abuse or neglect after being involved with the Relief Nursery despite over half of them being involved when Child Protective Services when they first attended.

The Relief Nursery offers a variety of outreach, counseling, and support services that can be accessed by any parents who have children up to five years old that are at high risk of abuse or neglect. Through a partnership with Healthy Families of Lane County, the Relief Nursery also provides weekly home visits, parenting education, and support to first-time birth parents. Most of the services provided by the Relief Nursery are offered for free or at a low cost. This is why it’s essential that they receive support from the community they’ve been helping for almost 50 years.

Visit The Relief Nursery to donate or be involved in their charity, and be sure to look for future Human Bean fundraisers that will donate your purchases to a good cause!
