1989
JCK Restaurants is Formed
In 1989, the JCK franchise was established by our founders Joe and Cathleen Karcher, who met in 1986 at Carl Karcher’s Sunshine Broiler in California. After working in the Carl’s system for many years, the two decided it was time to branch out into franchising. JCK’s mission was underway, and the gears were in motion with our very first restaurant.
1990
JCK Opens Their First Carl's Jr
In 1990, we opened our first restaurant: a Carl’s Jr located in the Gateway Mall in Springfield, Oregon. We moved to Eugene to open that location, and despite some ups and downs, we have never looked back!
1990-1992
1998-2000
5 New Stores Open
After almost a decade of successful operation, we expanded the JCK footprint again by opening five new stores in the Pacific Northwest between 1998-2000.
2003-2008
2010-2012
5 New Stores Open
Following this extension into Southern Oregon, we opened an additional five stores in just two years between 2010 and 2012.
2014
Jersey Mike's and Human Bean Join JCK
In early 2014, we brought Jersey Mike’s under the JCK umbrella. We all loved the culture that Jersey Mike’s represented: a close-knit atmosphere with a community-minded outlook. Later that same year, we followed it with our very first Human Bean location. Spearheaded by our founders’ daughter, Lauren, Human Bean has always done what a good cup of joe does best- bring people together over something delicious.
2016-2020
JCK Grows by 15
Between 2016 and 2020, JCK opened four new Carl’s Jr. restaurants, five Human Beans, and three Jersey Mike’s. In addition, we expanded into Central Oregon by purchasing three existing Carl’s Jr. restaurants in the Bend area.
